Here are some letter highlights:

We have investigators, we've got references, the ward had some problems with the lunch schedule for us and we literally got two lunches every day. People would just show up at our house and give us bags full of food. Hermana Alexander started speaking spanish like nobodys business. She remembers everyyythiiing she studies. The asistencia went up, the retencion of the converts went up, one guy who NEVER wants to go to church went and he was even happy about it, heck, people gave us free icecream, im not even kidding. We'd walk past drunk guys and they wouldnt even see us. I started to remember the area and the houses and I know exactly where I am going now. I got a christmas card in the mail, you know, late, but a Christmas card. The shower started working without the power cutting out. A little puppy started living at our house and comes to say hi everyday. Hermana Noorda sent me a keychain, and I started to understand the book of Revelations. My stomach problems havent gone away, but all the weird pains that I was having that I will tell you about in twenty years? Gone. Ciao. Like... apparently God wants me here lol. And thats my story. 

And the funny thing is, all week long we have been sharing Mosiah 2:41 about the blessed and happy state of those who keep the commandments of God and you know what y'all? I might actually believe that scripture. YEAH BUDDY caught my second wind and we're going for it.

This week I got to reading first nefi over again. Starting the Book of Mormon over again, in addition to my study of Revelations. I just got so sick of the Jehovahs witnesses and seventh day adventists and everyone telling me that Mormons dont understand Revelations that I decided to attack it myself. Uh hello Revelations is like the literal proof that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God... but anyways besides the point. First Nefi. Yeah. So I read it and it like blew my mind and I felt like I had never read first Nefi. Did you realize that Nephi saw the personage of the holy Ghost?? And the Lord himself?? And the end of the world?? And all of this as a very young man, like... pattern of the profetas jazz. I read it with that like idea of Abraham when he's like, let us go down and we will prove them herewith. And then Nefi is like, let us go up to Jerusalem and obey with all exactness the commandments of the Lord... I dont know. Cool new insights and stuff. Scriptures. When you think you know it all, you just dont, Nemo.

July 18

Days sick this week: 0 WOOOHOOO hahah

I really was like, oh I am healing yay But now I got to my inbox and I read all the emails about the fasts and prayers and then I was like...ooh.. so like maybe im just being shielded from the worst of sickness by prayers. Hahahah. Well thanks for everyone who thought about me and prayed and fasted for me. This week I really had a miracle. I was not feeling good, but then we just prayed and it was like instant healing. The pain went away and it was like nothing had happened. SO COOL.

So this week I am again in San Jorge, but this time Im with Hermana Alexander, who is fresh off the plane. She doesnt speak Spanish, and we are pinkwashing the area, and I am just so so happy to be with her but so streessed at the same time lolol. I dont know why the Lord just sees me as someone who is invincible but literally life keeps getting harder hahaha.

Weve actually had a lot of fun this week. Its a cool new challenge to have a companion whos just learning the ropes. Shes going to be marvelous in the mission. STuff that took me my whole mission to figure out she already knows. So cool. We have a good time. The members have been really supportive and everything too. We have a lot of references, a lot of work to do. We had pizza a couple of nights ago and that was fun too. And we have a couple of reallly amazing investigators, and one even went to church YES the first investigator Ive had in the church for like two months. Shes awesome

Another excerpt from the mom letter: 

 Con of this week: Got the flu and was passed out on the couch for three days Pro of this week: i live with two nurses. hahhaha

 So Hna Bringhurst told me that im sick all the time because I have no vitamins and no good bacterias. So now im on another bazillion pills of vitamins and probiotics and all of that and she says that will help me to have more health.

 Its been really interesting to see the McMullins go and the Evans arrive. President and Hermana McMullin are the most Christlike people I know. When they left there was this peace about them. Like a dying man whos lived a good life... it was weird. And awesome. They just bore this testimony that was.. wow. And they were so happy to be going home. So so happy. They'd finished what they were here to do and it was wonderful.

 President Evans and his wife are a little overwhelmed hahah. President barely speaks spanish and his wife and son not at all. As the Hermanas lideres [which im not but i pretend] we are trying to help them adjust. Weve done emergency runs to the super to buy shampoo and bread because they have literally no food in their kitchen, weve covered the office with little sticky notes of spanish words to help them learn vocabulary... a lot of encouragement, a lot of hugs. The stuff that im good at, you know.

 Sooo I keep praying to be an instrument in the Lords hands. I feel like I have a different understanding of that phrase than him, but at least I feel useful. The investigators arent coming but we have our hands full anyways.
